Louisiana and Mississippi are among the top ten states in the nation for flu activity.
The index is based on retail prescription data for medications used to treat flu symptoms. The drug store chain's list of the top ten metro areas in the U.S. with flu activity ranks New Orleans eighth, with Biloxi and Jackson, Mississippi in the top three.
