A Baker man could wind up spending five years in prison after his indictment in the accidental killing of his wife earlier this year.

An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury has opted to charge 28-year-old Rhykem Rogers with negligent homicide in the February death of 23-year-old Cherish Faith, the mother of his then three-week-old daughter.

Authorities say Rogers fired shots at his brother's pit bull as the two argued, fatally wounding the woman.
