Baton Rouge is being awarded more than 600-thousand-dollars by the ATF to establish a crime gun intelligence center.

WBRZ News 2 reports the facility will include the use of machinery to process ballistic evidence and match it to weapons used.

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore believes that will lead to higher clearance rates in gun-related crimes.

Seven other cities in the nation applied for and received similar grants.
