A man is facing multiple charges for failing to complete repairs on a home.

In January 2017, a 62-year-old Baton Rouge woman signed a contract with Darnell Murdock, who allegedly said he was a licensed contractor and the owner of Murdock Construction, LLC. The victim says he estimated the woman had almost $68,000 in damage from the 2016 flood.

She issued several checks totaling over $62,000 to Murdock, who never purchased required materials.

The woman later discovered he was not a licensed contractor and had previously been arrested by Baton Rouge Police for contractor fraud.
