Back To High Chance Of Tropical Depression In Gulf

After backing off the chances of development slightly Wednesday morning, the National Hurricane Center changed course that afternoon and said the chances of a tropical depression developing in the Gulf before the end of the week are once again high.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the system was described as a broad area of low pressure with disorganized shower activity, but favorable conditions should lead to a tropical depression forming by Thursday before it reaches the western Gulf.

The NHC says parts of northeastern Mexico, Texas and Louisiana could see heavy rains and gusty winds late this week.
