A Port Allen man is facing an upgraded charge following the death of a man he's accused of shooting on August 10th.

The victim, 35-year-old Marcus Haynes, died on Sunday while still hospitalized. He was wounded on North 31st in Baton Rouge when someone opened fire into the car he was driving.

Twenty-year-old Darius Bell was originally jailed on an attempted murder charge, but Baton Rouge police say he was re-booked Tuesday on a charge of second-degree murder.
