Tropical Wave In South Atlantic Not Expected To Strengthen

Forecasters are not expecting a tropical wave in the southern Atlantic to strengthen further, giving the system a low chance of doing so over the next five days.

"Regardless of development, this system is likely to bring locally heavy rainfall to portions of the Lesser Antilles during the next few days," read a tropical weather outlook from the National Hurricane Center Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Subtropical Storm Ernesto continues to swirl in the northern Atlantic. It's expected to weaken before merging with another front as it approaches the UK and Ireland and should dissipate by the weekend.
