California Woman Found Alive After Driving Off Big Sur Cliff Last Week

An Oregon woman who had been missing for over a week was found alive on a remote section of beach on the California coastline. A pair of hikers spotted 23-year-old Angela Hernandez and called for help. Rescue workers made their way down the 200-foot cliff and found Hernadez sitting near her partially submerged Jeep Patriot. Miraculously, she only suffered a concussion and shoulder injury when she drove off the cliff and came crashing down on the rocky beach below.

Hernadez told rescue workers that she swerved to avoid hitting an animal, lost control of her vehicle, and plunged over the cliff. She managed to survive for over a week by "by drinking water from the radiator of her vehicle."

Rescue workers hoisted Hernadez back up to the roadway and she was airlifted to a local hospital.
