WBRZ: Victim, Suspect Identified In Fatal Gonzales Shooting

(WBRZ News 2) Authorities in Gonzales are investigating an early morning shooting that left one person dead.

The shooting was reported shortly after 6 a.m. in the 40000 block of Black Bayou Road. Authorities say the victim died at an area hospital. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Christopher Godeau.

Chief Deputy Bobby Webre said the suspect fled the scene but was captured after being involved in a crash in Baton Rouge. The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Kirkpatrick Wayne Morrison.
