IHOP Announces What The "b" Stands For In Its New Name

Last week, the world-renowned pancake chain IHOP announced that it was changing its name to IHOb. Many people responded to the cryptic tweet trying to guess what the "b" stood for. Brunch and breakfast were popular choices, but they were ultimately wrong. On Monday, the pancake chain announced what the "b" represents and it was not what many people expected. The International House of Pancakes revealed that they will now be known as the International House of Burgers

Dear Internet, we abbreciate your batience. Now let’s see who guessed right. B-hold!!!!!

The name change comes as the restaurant introduces seven new burgers as part of the Ultimate Steakburgers line. The new menu features a Big Brunch Burger, the Cowboy BBQ Burger, and the double-decker Mega Monster Burger. The burgers will be available across the country starting at $6.99 and include unlimited fries and a drink.

"Everyone knows that IHOP makes world-famous pancakes, so we felt like the best way to convince them that we are as serious about our new line of Ultimate Steakburgers as we are about our pancakes was to change our name to IHOb," Brad Haley, the chain's chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

The company said that name change will not be permanent, though they did change the sign outside of their flagship restaurant in Hollywood, California.
