Zachary Police Chief Slams Judge After Death Of Officer

There's severe criticism of a state judge in Baton Rouge after the death of an officer who was struck and killed Monday night while trying to make a drug arrest.

Zachary Police Chief David McDavid told reporters Tuesday that Judge Trudy White has "blood on her hands" following the death of Officer Chris Lawton.  He died after being hit by a U-Haul truck in a Walmart parking lot in Baker that Albert Franklin was driving.

McDavid lashed out at Judge White for significantly reducing earlier bond amounts that allowed Franklin to be free, something he termed "her Judicial mistake."
