Edwards Creating Panel To Oversee Criminal Justice Reform

Governor John Bel Edwards is creating an eleven-member panel to oversee the implementation of laws geared towards criminal justice reform in the state.

He signed an executive order yesterday establishing the council.  Jimmy LeBlanc, the current Secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, will chair the group.

Its first report is due by December of next year.
