Judy Moore Vendetto will be serving as a Baton Rouge City Court judge.
She garnered 52% of the vote in Saturday's special election to decide who would succeed Judge Suzan Ponder after she retired in June.
Vendetto, the sister of District Attorney Hillar Moore, defeated Chris Hester, a parish prosecutor, to take over the City Court Division E judgeship.
