Convicted Felon Arrested For Firing Gun While Riding Bike

A convicted felon in Baton Rouge is arrested for shooting a gun in a neighborhood.

Baton Rouge Police brought 54-year-old George Tate Jr. into custody Saturday for the gunfire at the 73-hundred block of Tom Drive.

Authorities said the man, who was out on parole for an aggravated rape conviction, used a nine-millimeter handgun with a rubbed-out serial number to open fire while he rode a bike. No one was hurt.

He was booked into the parish prison on charges that include illegal possession of a weapon.
