Sterling Family, Broome Call For Firings

Baton Rouge Tense As DOJ Prepares To Announce Findings In Alton Sterling Case

Alton Sterling's family shouldn't have to endure any more investigations to get some measure of justice. That's what the family members say and now Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome says she agrees.

Both the Sterlings and Broome are sending letters to the police chief calling for at least one of the officers involved in Sterling's death last year to be fired.

The officers are on paid administrative leave while police conduct an internal investigation and the state conducts its own investigation.
