Louisiana Ranks Second In Federal Aid Received

It's about a thousand miles away, but Louisiana and Washington, DC are closely connected.

A report out yesterday from the Tax Foundation finds Louisiana ranks second in the amount of money it gets from the federal government with Mississippi getting the most.

More than 40% of Louisiana's revenue in 2014 came in the form of federal aid. The report says that's because Louisiana has modest state tax revenues and a high number of low-income residents.
