Hurricane Maria Bringing Wind, Rain, Flooding To East Coast

Hurricane Maria is bringing wind, rain, storm surge, and coastal flooding to the East Coast.

The storm that poured out so much misery on Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands won't make landfall in the U.S. But high surf advisories are posted from the east coast of Florida to the Carolinas and as far north as southeast New England. The advisories mean those areas could see dangerous breaking waves and rip currents.

A tropical storm warning is out this morning for parts of the North Carolina coast, including the Outer Banks.

To Maria's east, Hurricane Lee continues to sit in the Atlantic. The small storm is expected to drift westward before making a turn northeast by the end of the week. It is a not a threat to the United States.
