Gov. Jeff Landry says he plans to issue an executive order declaring a state of emergency for areas struck by last week's heavy weather.
Landry made the announcement on Monday afternoon, after touring areas of West Feliciana and St. Tammany Parishes that were damaged by tornadoes and hail.
The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is working with parish officials to assist with the recovery process.
