LWC Moves To Ensure No Unemployment Benefits For Unserious Job Hunters

The Louisiana Workforce Commission is taking steps to stop people from abusing the unemployment benefits system.

There are more than 96,000 job openings statewide and the number is growing.

But employers are having problems with unemployed applicants who turn down job offers or don't show up for interviews.

Employers can now submit applicants' names on two new online forms.

The LWC can see who's receiving unemployment benefits without actively looking for a job and these people can potentially lose the benefits.
