Baton Rouge Police Officer Charged In Fatal Crash

A Baton Rouge police officer is being charged with negligent homicide for a fatal crash earlier this month.

Authorities said Officer Sharmaine Buckley ran a red light and hit another vehicle while responding to a shootout involving officers on October 20.

A person in that vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Caleb Chappetta, was killed.

The investigation into the shootout is ongoing.
