The St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office is trying identify some human remains discovered nearly 40 years ago.

Hunters found part of a human skeleton near the banks of the West Pearl River not far from I-59.

Forensic analysts say the remains are those of a mixed-race man between 18 and 40 years old.

A computer-assisted reconstruction of the man's possible facial features was released on Monday.

The coroner's office hopes the image will jog someone's memory and help lead to a positive ID of the unknown man.
