A new library is under construction in Baton Rouge.

Work crews broke ground on Tuesday for the library on Glasgow Avenue near Perkins Road.

The new library will feature 31 public computers, a conference room, a quiet study room, self-checkout kiosks, and a bicycle repair station.

Visitors will have access to free wireless Internet, color copiers, and free printing of up to 20 black-and-white pages a day.

Officials say construction of the new library should take about 14 months and cost more than $11 million.
