A substitute principal is taking over at Walker High School after the principal took a leave of absence following an incident involving a student.

Livingston Parish Public schools announced that assistant principal Tim Rogers will assume Principal Jason St. Pierre's position on Monday.

Rogers, who has been the assistant principal at Walker High since 2016, will be the substitute principal for the rest of the current school year.

The Livingston Parish School Board is expected to vote on his contract at their meeting on November 2.
