East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore is working to block Gov. John Bel Edwards's efforts to provide clemency hearings for death row inmates.

On Tuesday, Moore filed an injunction to prevent the Louisiana Board of Pardons and Committee on Parole from setting the hearings.

He was accompanied by district attorneys from across Louisiana, as well as family members of the victims of death row inmates.

Edwards wants to commute the sentences for 56 death row inmates to life in prison because of his opposition to the death penalty.
