A trial date is being set for an Addis police officer who was arrested after a high speed chase left two teenage girls dead.

Authorities say 42-year-old David Cauthron allegedly ran a red light while chasing a suspect last New Years Eve, which resulted in him hitting the victims' vehicle while traveling at 86-miles-per-hour.

The crash killed 17-year-old Maggie Dunn and 16-year-old Caroline Gill, and seriously injured one other.

Cauthron is facing several charges, including manslaughter and malfeasance.

A trial date has been scheduled for March 18, 2024.
