New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Jake Haener will sit out the first six games of the 2023 season.

The NFL suspended Haener without pay for violating the league's policy about performance-enhancing substances.

Haener will be eligible to return to the field on Monday, October 16, in time for the Saints' home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday of that week.

Until then, the Saints can choose between Derek Carr, Jameis Winston, and Taysom Hill at QB.
