The Saints cut eight players and waived another 26 as they trimmed their roster to 53 men by Tuesday's deadline.

The most notable terminations were cornerback Bradley Roby and linebacker Jaylon Smith.

New Orleans waived 26 players, including former LSU wide receiver Jontre Kirklin and punter Blake Gillikin.

Undrafted free agent Lou Hedley will take over punting duties on special teams.

The Saints open the regular season on Sunday, September 10 when they welcome the Tennessee Titans to the Superdome.
