The Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge is reporting the death of Rev. Mark Beard in a car crash on Wednesday.
Rev. Beard was the pastor at St. Helena Catholic Church in Amite City.
The bishop is asking for prayers for Beard and his family, friends, and parishioners.
No details of the accident were released.
