Charges are dropped against a couple indicted for the murder of their adult daughter in East Feliciana Parish.

A judge tossed out the second-degree murder charges against Sheila and Clay Fletcher because of a problem with the language in the charging documents.

Investigators say 36-year-old Lacey Fletcher, who was mentally disabled, was left to rot on a filthy sofa in her parents' house.

The Fletchers were scheduled to stand trial this month.

District Attorney Sam D'Aquilla says he plans to seek new grand jury indictments this month.
