A proposed bill to allow Louisiana women to abort a pregnancy resulting from rape or incest is now off the table.
After hearing passionate testimony from both sides of the issue, the House Criminal Justice Committee voted the bill down on Wednesday by a 10-5 vote.
Enacting the bill was a priority for Gov. John Bel Edwards, who issued a statement expressing his disappointment with the committee's action.
