Baton Rouge Woman Dies In Wrong-Way Highway Accident Involving TX Driver

Louisiana State Police are investigating the death of a Baton Rouge woman in a highway crash with a Texas driver suspected of being impaired.

State troopers say 27-year-old Jiasia Steib died in the head-on collision on US-61 south of I-10 near Gramercy in St. James Parish around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

They say 50-year-old Mark Wooten of Houston is charged DWI first offense, no seatbelt, vehicular homicide, and reckless operation.

Wooten will be jailed when he gets out of the hospital.
