Gov. John Bel Edwards says there are still some things he'd like to get done in his final year in office.

Speaking at the Baton Rouge Press Club on Monday, Edwards said he'd still like to see the legislature give teachers a pay raise, provide broadband Internet in rural areas, enact abortion exceptions for rape and incest, and raise the minimum wage.

Edwards said he thinks Louisiana has come a long way since he was elected in 2016.

He denied responsibility for large numbers of people reportedly leaving the state for greener pastures.
