Former East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner Dr. Hypolite Landry Dies At 96

Funeral arrangements are pending for Dr. Hypolite Landry, a former East Baton Rouge Parish coroner.

Landry's family confirms he died on Saturday at the age of 96.

In 1969, Dr. Landry set the world record for the quickest around-the-world flight in a single-engine plane.

He was elected coroner in 1971 and held the position until he retired in 1998.
