Acadian Ambulance Service is announcing the death of one of its EMTs in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday on I-10 near Slidell.

Louisiana State Police say 36-year-old John Mitchell Crow of Pascagoula, Mississippi, was driving an ambulance that rear-ended a box truck in heavy fog around 12:40 a.m.

Crow was wearing a seat belt, but suffered fatal injuries.

A paramedic and a patient in the ambulance were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The truck driver wasn't hurt.
