Some Red Cross volunteers from Louisiana are still in Florida to help out in the Hurricane Ian disaster zone.

Louisiana Red Cross Senior Disaster Program Manager Greg Doolittle says 25 volunteers are helping out with Red Cross shelters in Fort Myers.

He says there were more than 800 people in nine Red Cross shelters on Thursday night.

Ian was a Category 4 storm when it made landfall on September 28 in southwest Florida.
