The chief of the Plaquemine Police has no plans to resign in the face of a grand jury investigation.

Police Chief Kenny Payne is suspected of seeking sexual favors from a woman earlier this year if he would help dismiss charges against her boyfriend.

Mayor Ed Reeves says Chief Payne called him Tuesday morning and said he didn't do it and he's not stepping down.

A grand jury will convene on November 21 to hear the case.
