Per a declaration from Governor John Bel Edwards, October 24 is officially "Red Beans and Rice Day."

The simple meal has been around for more than a century, and has helped Louisianians make it through economic downturns, pandemics, and hurricanes.

The Louisiana brands Cajun Country Rice and Camellia Beans are making donations to Second Harvest Food Bank to bring red beans and rice to the tables of 100,000 needy families statewide.
