The East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council will discuss the city's red light camera program at next Wednesday's council meeting.

The program has been in place since 2008, with cameras at more than a dozen intersections across Baton Rouge.

Last year, the program brought in more than $3 million, which went into the budget of the Baton Rouge Police.

Councilman Cleve Dunn says he believes the cameras are just a cash grab, and he wants to know if they really promote safety.
