Baton Rouge deputy chiefs are defending their boss after the International Union of Police Association called for his resignation.

The deputy chiefs issued a response today saying Chief Murphy Paul attends roll calls, emails, and virtual town hall meetings to get to know officers.

The deputy chiefs also say more police officers will graduate from the academy next week and 35 others will be in the next training class.

IUPA President Sam Cabral sent a letter yesterday accusing Paul of being out of his depth as a leader and not doing enough to fight crime.
