The discussion about where to build a new Mississippi River bridge is ongoing.

The Capital Area Road and Bridge District on Monday whittled the list down to ten potential sites.

Parish presidents are urging state lawmakers to approve Governor John Bel Edwards's $500 million proposal for the new bridge.

Six town-hall meetings are scheduled for April and May for the public to learn about and discuss possible bridge locations.

Seven of the potential sites are in Iberville Parish, two are in West Baton Rouge, and one is in Ascension Parish.
