Baton Rouge General's new neighborhood hospital in Prairieville is now open.
The ER had it's grand opening yesterday and has already begun accepting patients in its 10-bed inpatient hospital.
BRG officials say the facility was designed to create a new experience for patients, taking them straight from the door to their room.
The new self-rooming concept means no waiting rooms and no clipboards of forms to fill out.
Health officials believe the new concept will reduce the spread of illness which they say is more important now than ever before due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
