Local fire departments are giving away free face masks today.
Officials say the Galvez-Lake Fire Department, along with other fire departments in Ascension Parish, will be handing out cloth face masks donated by the Hanes Corporation.
According to reports, the distribution will go from 5 to 7 p.m. or until supplies have been handed out.
The event will be a drive-thru to maintain the safety of those handing out supplies, and organizers are asking residents to remain in their cars.
