An East Baton Rouge Parish man wanted for the July 2011 murder of his wife is in the local lockup.

Oscar Lozada was extradited from Texas to Louisiana over the weekend.  He had been on the run for about seven years, fleeing to South America and then to Mexico with the couple's daughter where deputies caught up with him.

He's accused of murdering Sylviane Lozada whose remains have not been located, sheriff's officials saying he had confessed to killing her.
