It's been talked about for a couple of years but it appears Baton Rouge is a lot closer to having a bike-share program.

Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome says that Gotcha, a South Carolina-based firm, has been selected as the private vendor for the program set to launch early next year. It'll begin with the location of 50 bike hubs around the city and a total of 500 GPS-enabled bikes.

The Metro Council is expected to sign off on the deal during a public hearing October 10th.
