Metro Council Nixes Idea Of Longer Drinking Hours

A proposal to make 4 a.m. the cutoff time for serving alcohol in Baton Rouge bars and restaurants is dead, at least for now.

Sales are currently allowed until 2 a.m.

The Metro Council voted Thursday against extending the hours out of concern that it would lead to more drunk driving and other problems.
