Folks all over the nation, including Louisiana, marked Memorial Day in various ways with one such overwhelmingly patriotic endeavor to remain in place until Sunday.

The display of more than 11,000 U.S. flags, representing men and women from the state who paid the ultimate price in service to the nation, partially covers the front lawn of the capitol building.

Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana and volunteers will remove the flags after a ceremony to be held Sunday, June 3rd at 4 p.m.
