There's word that New Roads Mayor Robert Myer will be stepping down in a plea deal reached with prosecutors early last night in Plaquemine.
He's been battling allegations that he used his position to coerce city workers into doing things for his personal gain and misused city-issued credit cards.
Myer is supposed to submit his letter of resignation this morning after entering a no-contest plea yesterday to one of nine courts of malfeasance in office charges.
