A Zachary mom is still trying to wrap her head around the fact that a man she had known for more than a dozen years and the father of their child could have murdered their eleven-month-old son.

The East Baton Rouge Parish coroner confirmed Monday that young Jericho Smith died after suffering multiple gunshots, stab wounds and blunt force trauma on Saturday.
The child's dad, 33-year-old Fabian Smith, is jailed on charges of first-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, but investigators have yet to determine a motive for the killing.
