New FEMA Boss Addresses South Louisiana Flooding

New FEMA Administrator Brock Long is seeking to clear up some of the bureaucratic red tape linked to his office when addressing disasters in Louisiana and elsewhere.

He visited with Governor John Bel Edwards and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu yesterday in Baton Rouge.

Long opted not to give an assessment of FEMA's response to last year's crippling flood in South Louisiana since he wasn't in charge at the time.

On the other hand, Governor Edwards wants changes to federal regulations that would improve the availability of temporary housing to disaster victims.
