Baton Rouge Vigil Held After Charlottesville Violence

As in many other cities around the nation, folks gathered in Baton Rouge last night for a vigil following the deadly Saturday violence at a Charlottesville, Virginia white nationalist rally.

Members of several area groups gathered for a march and flashlight rally from the state capitol to the Mississippi River levee.

A leader of one of the groups told The Advocate they opted to use flashlights because fire is intimidating, noting the tiki torches carried by those who took part Friday night in a white supremacist march in Virginia.
